Welcome to the homepage for Dr. Grow's BIOCHEMISTRY 3033 offered by the University of West Florida.   On this page, you will be able to find pertinent course materials such as syllabi, handouts, problem sets, and previously-given exams.

This course consists of the study of biochemical compounds with emphasis placed on the physical aspects of biochemistry. Topics include the role of water in biochemical systems, the structure and function of amino acids and proteins , the nature of enzymes, and the basic structure of carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids. 
 

Most of the files are in two formats:  MS Word and Adobe Acrobat Reader (pdf).  If you are using Internet Explorer, the Word documents should load automatically in the browser.  If you are using Netscape, you might be asked whether to open the document or save it to disk when clicking on Word format selection.
Get Acrobat Reader In order to read the files in pdf format, you must have the Adobe Acrobat Reader plug-in installed on your computer.  It is freeware and may be downloaded at the Adobe website by clicking on the button at the left.
