MS PowerPoint
These materials were used at the PowerPoint
workshops of April 14 and April 21. They will allow users to refine
their PowerPoint skills or to explore teaching and learning strategies for
which PowerPoint is uniquely suited. If you have contributions
that you would like to see listed, please contact Mary Louise Winter at
mlwinter@pjc.edu.
To copy a template to your own workstation:

Click its title and then choose Save when
prompted
- Choose the location on your computer for
saving, i.e. My Documents or Desktop

Open it in PowerPoint to manipulate it

Templates:

Jeopardy Style Game - This is a great way to review concepts or terms
and definitions. One column of the template contains questions and
answers that will serve as an example of how the game works. Simply
substitute your own information.

Who Wants to be a Millionaire Style Game - Another great review tool.
The first question has been completed as an example of how the game works.

Interactive Quiz - This 10 question quiz just needs your content.
Interactive buttons and navigation are already included.

PowerPoint Backgrounds - This site contains a variety of backgrounds
that can be downloaded for free including directions for downloading.

Conducting Research (Jeopardy Game) -
To begin this sample game complete with sound effects, advance to the second grid to
begin play. Click on each answer slide to advance to the
corresponding question.

Who Wants to be a
Billionaire? - While this sample game contains only generic trivia
questions, it has some interesting audio. It could easily be used as
a model for an interactive PowerPoint.

3 Question Math
Quiz - Although the math may not be age appropriate for college
students, this short sample quiz will
demonstrate how action buttons can provide interactivity.

More Than Just
Another Slide Show - This PowerPoint was used during the Spring 2005
workshop at PJC and gives examples of the various teaching and learning
strategies that the program affords. This show opens directly on the
Internet but you can print out
