- Using E-Mail and the threaded discussion. You are
required to post some of your assignments on the threaded
discussion and email some of them to the instructor. Ten
percent of your grade in this course is determined by the quality
and effectiveness of your e-mail and your participation in the
threaded discussion. Every student is required to
participate in the threaded discussion. Check the threaded
discussion often as the instructor may use it to address questions
and provide general information to the class. Topics for
discussion may be initiated by the students or the instructor.
Please note that quality is more important than quantity; there is
no need to overdo the amount of messages you send. Feel free
to use this tool.

site provide lots of ways to express yourself using a special shorthand. Go to one or more of the sites you'll find
in the Emoticons section and browse the list of emoticons you will find there. Post your

find an audio file and a graphic file that you can use in your web
page. Cite the source in APA,
MLA, or CMS style and post it in Bulletin Board. Send the audio and graphic
files as attachments.

After completing Chapter 18 you should be able to do your
Résumé. Follow some of the links at

site to see a variety of resume formats.

You need to test your resume first to make sure it looks good
and contains no spelling errors nor broken links.

Remember that your resume should contain a
table of contents to targets that make it easy for the user to find the
different sections of your resume and use "Back to the Top"
hyperlink at the end of each section to return to the table of contents.

You should
save the resume on your ISP's server and post the URL
on the threaded discussion in WebCT.
After reading the chapters
in the book and the articles on Web page design
and layout, take a look at one of these obnoxious
web sites and list at least three (3) thing done wrong on this
page. Post your comment in the threaded

Internet search to find at least three web sites, one for each category,
which is good, or bad, or ugly. Send the URL of the web sites to the

the Shockwave plug-in, use your browser to visit some of the shockwave-enabled

back properly from the Web, post a message with your URL
on the threaded discussion indicating that your web page now has
audio so your classmates can click and view your homepage and your instructor can assign a grade for your waveform recording.

in the course.
Review one of your classmate's homepage assigned to
you. Use WebCT to email him/her suggestions as to what he/she should
do to improve his/her page. Also email a
copy of your suggestions to your instructor in WebCT.
- Assignment 18 - Evaluate Submitted Web Pages.

equals 4 points toward your grade in the course.
List what you think are
the top three Web Pages and why you liked them. Winners will be announced at
the end of the term on the threaded discussion. E-mail this assignment to your
