ARTICLE SUMMARIES
PAZ 2551
A large
portion of your grade in this course will be based upon the submission on the
dates indicated on your syllabus of summaries and evaluations of 3 research or
review articles in the field of animal reproduction. The abstracts have been deleted to avoid
distracting you from developing your own summary of the material. You will be expected to provide a summary of
the article (be as brief as possible while still complete; like an abstract
your summary should contain the hypothesis as well as a couple of sentences of
background as to why they are testing it, a summary of what they did and what
results they got, and a couple of sentences on the conclusions they arrived at
concerning the hypothesis). After your
summary, provide a paragraph with your opinion as to whether this research was
valuable, worth your tax dollars, worth the cost in animal lives or discomfort,
and why or why not. Please include any
observations you may have about problems with this research in this section
(e.g. research could have been valuable if they had only tested at the right
time of day, or I believe they used inadequate controls in this study, or
.......). Typed papers required.
