Course Development Services

Instructional Technology offers assistance and guidance in developing course materials for the online environment.  We currently offer three formats for delivering course materials online.  They are:

  • Course Companion Websites

Course companion websites are used as supplements for courses that are taught completely face-to-face.  Often informational-type materials, e.g., practice tests, lecture notes, grades, etc. are placed in a course companion website.

  • Hybrid Courses

Hybrid courses combine online learning experiences and activities with traditional classroom meetings.  Hybrid courses meet part of their scheduled time in the classroom and part of the time on the web.

  • Online Courses

Online courses are offered completely over the Internet therefore eliminating the requirement of the student to come to campus for any purpose.  All aspects of the course are delivered online including lectures, practice activities, course discussions, submission of assignments, and testing.

Both hybrid and online courses require approval from the Curriculum Committee to develop and then to offer.  More information about this process is available from the Online Course Development page.
